Our very own series of Craving Pataniya is back. We at Patna Diaries, want to showcase the different, unique and good eating options available in our city. We are in a constant search of places that are worth exploring. So, this time, we went to a restaurant called – Swaaddesh.
Swaaddesh is the first themed restaurant on Bihar, which depicts the art and culture of Bihar in a beautiful manner. We had a great time there and would like to share our experience with you all.
There are some things that we keep in mind when we go to review a restaurant.
Ambience
When we go to a restaurant, then the first thing we notice is the ambience of that place. It helps us decide if we really want to eat there or not. Swaaddesh gets a good point on this front.
From fancy plates with quotes written in our local language to Madhubani painting on the wall, you can find every flavor of Bihar in the theme of the restaurant. Each table has a milestone placed on it which tell us the distance of that particular district from Patna.
The best thing we liked about this decor was the wall which has the map of Bihar and depicts the art associated with the various districts of Bihar.
Food
The food is served in brass utensils to give the old traditional twist. We enjoyed mocktail, starters and main course in the restaurant. The cuisines available are Chinese and North Indian. We just couldn’t stop licking our fingers while eating the Murg Rara. We highly recommend this dish with the right amount of spice in it.
Service
The staff is very friendly and prompt. You can also order food online through various food delivery services like Swiggy and Zomato.
Cost
The average cost for two people will be between 700-1000 INR. It is comparatively expensive than the normal restaurants available in the vicinity. But, it has value for money for the ambience and food.
